Europacampus Hainburg

Discover the new European Campus Hainburg (ECH) in Austria, a joint site of the European University Alliances E³UDRES² and EULiST.

The European Campus Hainburg is being developed by USTP – University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten in cooperation with TU Wien as part of Lower Austria's Higher Education Strategy 2030+.

Located between Vienna and Bratislava, the campus will serve as a cross-border hub for higher education, research and innovation in the heart of Europe, bringing together international talent, cutting-edge research and entrepreneurial thinking.

The European Campus Hainburg (ECH) will host around 500 students, including PhD candidates, and approximately 60 academic and administrative staff members.

New degree programmes are planned in the fields of:

• Artificial Intelligence and Data Science
• Human-Centred Technology Transformation
• Innovative Entrepreneurship

These programmes will be complemented by specialised master's programmes and a PhD School.

For the first time in Austria, a University of Applied Sciences and a Technical University will share a campus, creating unique opportunities for interdisciplinary learning, research and innovation.

The Government of Lower Austria approved the project in December 2025. The campus is scheduled to open in 2028, with selected academic activities starting earlier at the St. Pölten campus.

• A catalyst for innovation and value creation, helping shape Europe's digital and democratic future

Hainburg is located on the Danube River in Lower Austria, between Vienna and Bratislava, and within easy reach of both international airports.

Its position at the crossroads of Austria, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic makes it an ideal location for a European campus dedicated to international collaboration, education, research and innovation.
